I was wondering if someone did this yet. I was up at my lake house this weekend and we were trashing this old bike, I thought of a use for the wheels: disc golf basket! Great minds think alike I guess :) .

I've gathered a bunk of junk wheels and pipe, but I'm kind of stuck on one thing. How do you attach the hub to the pipe/post? I thought of removing the axle/bearing assembly completely, then putting a large bolt w/ washer through the top and into the pipe. But then, what would the bolt thread into?

If there is a sturdy enough solution for said hub/axle mounting, I may also be able to make a design that uses wheels for the top AND bottom basket, using only the spokes from the wheels, piping, couplers, chain and some other metal wire.

I shaved down a piece of 2x2 and rounded it so the tip just fits in the post then turned it upside down and hammered the wood in about 6" or so then cut it off flush with the pole. to keep it in place I put a self tapping screw through the pole holding the inner block of wood in place. Then removed the bike axel and used an 8" wood screw with a washer to screw into the inner block of would. Then your good to go. Hope that helps
